I need robo to be my hero here!

It looks like I undercut my vacation and would like to add a day or two to it. How would I go about this? I looked at the two days that I wanted to extend the vacation to and there was very limited hotel space left. DO they take extensions into consideration and "reserve" a few rooms off for people that may want to extend their stay, or will I have to switch resorts mid trip? Any other useful info is appreciated :thumbsup2

You'll most likely have to switch resorts for those days you want to extend to.

I'd reserve what you could since there's limited space left and then just keep trying to stay in the same resort. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone will cancel their trip.

I would call right away.

Two years ago, we had a package booked for months and then decided to arrive a couple of days early.

When I went online & pulled up the dates to see what the price would be, the system said that there were no rooms left at our resort.

I immediately picked up the phone and talked to a CM. I told her that we had a res but wanted to change the arrival date.

We were able to do it. I don't know how, but she changed the dates, no problem, and we were able to stay at our same resort.

Good luck!

I think my CM was having a bad day :sad1:
He was rather short with me. Anyways looks like there was nothing available at this time. Thanks for the help though!

call back and speak with someone else.

I have extended our vacation a couple of times, but always had to pay rack rate for the extra day or two.

If there is a room only discount going on, you could make two separate reservations; one for your one or two nights of room only and one for your package, if that would work for you. I know there are situations where it may not work.

That's what we did last month. It saved us almost $150.

We were able to stay in the same room, too. I just had to go down to the lobby on the morning that our package began. No big deal.

Call back, and check every day. Someone is likely to cancel or change their reservation, opening up a room.

We tried to extend our stay once by 1 day, once we arrived, but the hotel was full to capacity. They were very understanding, and offered us a room (at rack rate) in another resort, but they only had suites left & we didn't want to spend that kind of money. So I doubt they hold a few rooms "just in case" guests want to extend their stay.

Good luck!

Update: After calling back everyday based on suggestions here, something finally opened up and I was able to add it on. Thanks again for all the help!!

Just did this myself a few days ago for our end of August POP stay. The CM was great. I added a night, going from 8 nights to 9 nights. He simply added the day, along with another free dining day, and my package\booking info remained the same. (no room change needed).
