VA and overnight bag

Who's you flight from Belfast with Jockey?

They are with Flybe or Flymaybe as they have been called!. Only cost £10 each through VH. At least on the return journey we can check in the bags at DTD and don't see them to BFS. Won;t have to pay for excess baggage either:) Last year they lost one of our cases at gatwick. Was found lying on the airfield by a member of VA staff.

We are staying at the Hilton next month and we are going to park overnight at the car park behind the hotel which you have to pay for and then take the car to the long stay car park next morning. That way we can put our overnight baggage in the boot. It just means another nights car parking charge, but we have to pay that anyway because of the parking package we have.

I thought about wearing the same clothes but what about pjs and other bits, I would rather pay the extra and be able to put the bag in the boot of the car:thumbsup2

We did this last year and it worked great. It's not a bad price for the overnight and didn't cost us any extra since we were staying over 15 days and had to pay for the couple of extra days anyway.

This year since we are flying UC (probably for the only time ) we will check in during the AM.

I though it was only exit seats they allocated on check in?Sorry if I am wrong. Not having the luxury of twilight at manchester we will be checking in online. Can we change our seats at check in to the ones they allocate at check in only?We have 79 H,K and 80 k at the moment.
Sorry for taking over but leaving in 3 days:scared1:

Alice, thanks for all your replies. Row 70 is the bulk head seats in the bubble. They are assigned at checkin.:)

Hi Jockey - it is always a pleasure: I hope that, occassionally, I can help others to get the most out of their holidays :cool1:

Are you travelling with an under 2? If not, are you sure that you want bulkhead seats? Some people like them, but others (including me) don't - generally less leg/knee room etc (although you don't have anyone reclining onto you).

I think that jockey is correct and that both exit row seats and bulkhead seats are only allocated at aiport check-in. I certainly don't think that exit row seats can be selected during Online Check-in. You may be able to get bulkheads assigned by Special Assistance, if you are travelling with an under 2, some time before check-in

Alice I am travelling with a 2 and I have requested bulk head seats due to my medical condition!;) DH and I prefer row 70, even before we had DS.

I think it's the bulk head too. You could check in on line then try to change them at the airport.

Horses for courses - if we all liked the same thing, then this world would be a dull place (and we would all be fighting for the same seats ;) ) :cool1:

Ok (travelling with a 2 doesn't make a difference - if he was under 2, you could have requested them... but having a seperate seat for DS will be all the better - couldn't travel with my little wriggler, Lucy, as a "lap infant" :) ).

If you have a medical condition (hope it is nothing too serious!), have you considered speaking to Special Assistance and seeing if they can allocate you the bulkhead seats before check-in? Obviously I haven't a clue what you medical condition is, but I am sure that they would do their best to accomodate your request and make you are comfortable as possible :)

Good luck and best wishes,
Alice

Thanks Alice, we always found it easier to buy DS a seat even when he was under 2 - means we get his baggage allowance too! I will be 5 months pregnant at time of travel so nothing serious.:) VA special assistance have been great and have requested row 70 for us.

Crabbie,
those are excellent seats, at the back of the bubble, nearest to the stairs so first off the plane, plus with 80K no-one behind you so you can recline to your hearts content.

I don't really understand this thread.
If you check in on line, why take your bags the night before to Twilight checkin?
Why not just go to fast bag drop the next morning?

We always check in on line then go to the desks the next morning.

It just seems so much easier than trying to off load another bag the next morning? or am I missing something?

For us it was just to get rid of the bags so next morning we could take our time, have a nice breakfast and head straight to departures without have to lug our bags with us :)

Oh, congratulations!

Yes, I think you are very wise - for both the luggage allowance and the comfort :thumbsup2

Good, hopefully you will have no problem getting Row 70.

Have a great trip :)

Thanks Alice:thumbsup2

Tim, know what you mean about getting rid of the bags, I really wish we did not have to bother with it the next day. However my make up bag is nearly the size of a suitcase LOL:rotfl: And we have all the bits and pieces for DS too!

I know OBI as you recommended them and we are not changing them.
thanks
