Can anyone confirm if it is still possible to get a discount from Virgin Holidays if you pay using a Virgin Atlantic AMEX card? I think you used to be able to get 10% discount, but can't find anything online to confirm if that is still the case. Also, am I right in thinking that you can get a 7% discount from Virgin Holidays for being a Flying Club member? Thanks for your help :cool1:

No discount for paying with the Amex but, yes, you can get 7% discount (10% if gold member) for being a member of the flying club.

When we booked for our May 2012 holiday we got 10% through VH as a frequent flyer, but when we tried to book our August 2014 trip through VH our dates were blacked out:sad2: so we did DIY.Though I've read somewhere there is a VH membership of some kind but i can't find it:confused3
We always pay with our VA Amex to get more miles(100,00 total so far)but as yet we've only used 8,000 to get a few hundred pounds off the flight :headache:

I think you might mean the Frequent Virgin Club. It's by invitation only and you have to spend a certain amount within a qualifying period to be invited to join (although they are updating it at the moment and not inviting new members)

Thanks for all your help :) does the 7% discount get applied on top of whatever price comes up on the Virgin Holidays website? I think I was in the Frequent Virgin club about 8 years ago but holidayed with them since so I've probably now been kicked out!!!!

You have to phone them to get the discount applied. Since 9 times out of 10 the website gives a 5% online booking idscount, it is unlikely that you will save much.

As far as Frequent Virgin Club, it is worth checking as we are still members and haven't booked with them since 2008.

sadly if you are going in school holidays (or around them) they get black out days - so no 7% discount for flying club members etc.

no free dining / $200 spending money on some periods too (easter 2015 for example) despite the disney adverts saying (including school holidays) its a con really.

you pay more to go in school holidays anyway and you don't get any extras.

we were booked for easter 2015 now switched to May 2015 at least we get the free dining then and saved £1000s overall.
