Day 1, part 2.
Around 2.45pm we head into the DL park. Its so wonderful to be back on Main Street, with that music and the beautiful castle in the distance. They have really gone to town with the Halloween decorations this year and I love the huge pumpkin in front of the castle. We head up Main Street, towards the Information Board, where simons attention is swayed towards a pin stall. He sees a Halloween lanyard with 4 pins and I buy it straight away for him (Well he has bought me to DLP!!). On it goes straight away and hes very pleased. We decide just to have a wander and head into Discovery Land. Wow, is it busy! We stop at Adventure land for a snack. Si has tomato soup with croutons and I have a choccy doughnut. YUM. We sit for about half an hour and watch the world go by. We then head back to the Hotel as I want to change before our 6.30pm reservation at Walts.
After a long soak in the bath for me and another nap for Si, we head back into the park and up Main Street to Walts. We are seated over-looking Main Street, which was a lovely surprise. We spend ages over the menus , as they have lots of photos of Walt and different times in his life. Simon orders Salmoln to start and fillet of beef for main. I just opt for a main course, a Walts gormet burger.
Simon has a 1664 (this becomes a regular theme!), I have milk!!! The food is delicious and our waiter, Ross from Scotland(!), is charming. His wife is due 3 days after me. For dessert Simon has a Halloween dessert, I cant really describe it, but it was like a fruity cheesecake in the shape of a coffin, with a meringue ghost on top. Ive got a photo, once my camera is sorted out!! I had the warm chocolate cake, yum.
By the time weve finished it is park closing. We wander through the village, which is heaving, as we expected!! We decide to wander up to the hotel New York as weve never been in there and have heard lots of good things about it. We go into the New York City Bar (I think thats right?!). I loved the atmosphere of this bar straight away, and have to say that it is now my favourite place to relax in the resort. I have a non-alcholic cocktail called a Lasker Rink and Simon has a 1664. We also get nuts and nibbles. FAB. By 10pm Im shattered, so its a slow walk back and sweet dreams for me.
