REAL LIFE NEWS: V got her ears pierced this past Saturday. She picked little pink flowers. (Shocking!)
The puppies are growing like beasts. I need to spend more time working with Rogue on training and such. I need to spend a lot more time doing lots of stuff.

Seriously tho, I need to do it and I'm just not doing it. I need to get my but in gear.
This past weekend I went with my mom and 2 of our scrappy friends to a scrapbooking retreat in Michigan. It was SO MUCH FUN!
We left early Friday morning and got to Michigan and headed straight for hobby lobby. After a quick perusal in the scrapbooking section we headed for material and started shopping for stuff for V's customs. I had a notebook with a page for each outfit and list what materials I was thinking and how much I needed. I also had swatches for matching fabrics. Regardless of this, it still took forever!!! We did what we could until our friends were ready to go. I got some other fabrics too that I just liked. some pretty glittery paris fabric and pink damask! We headed to grab lunch at Ruby Tuesday and then Target.
After Target we went to Joann. There wasn't much material on sale, I found a few things that were worth the money. Material in Canada is quite expensive and we really don't have the selection that hobby lobby or joann does. so I picked up a couple things. I was frustrated, not finding what I needed for one of V's customs. We didn't stay too long and then headed off. We arrived an hour late for check in and spent the evening scrapbooking. Well.... I tried, but I could not settle down and get in the mood. I worked on a page I'd already started. I was tired too which was the big problem. Went to bed, woke up and tried a bit more, had breakfast at 9. My mom and I were heading back to hobby lobby and joann that day to shop for material that we needed. We left around 10:30 I think and despite getting delayed by about an hour going in the wrong direction and turning around, we by passed our retreat again at noon and were on our way. We headed to Joann first. We got a little bit of fabric and shopped around. I picked out some glitter fabrics, I thought were on sale and they weren't so I had to pay full price for some and not get others

We then got felt. The 72 inch bolts of felt were on sale for $2.99 a yard. The regular price at our store is around 10 a meter! We got lots of colors and 1/2-1 yrd cuts of them. My mom uses the felt for lining and I will need some for appliques, but still, we have way more felt than will EVER be needed. Next we drove to a hobby lobby about another 25 minutes away. We did some damage at Hobby Lobby and got lots of ribbons on for half off and I found a turquoise necklace that could work for a pink Cinderella dress.... (foreshadowing?)
I got a good portion of the fabric I needed for customs from Hobby Lobby at 30% off! I know the quality isn't as good, but the price is right and I actually really preferred the prints to those at Joanns, I felt like there was more I liked at Hobby Lobby, even tho they had a much smaller selection.
It took 25 minutes to get the fabric cut and another 25 minutes, just to check out! I kid you not. We were finally on our way just after 5 and we arrived back at the retreat to our friends relief at 6:10. They were starting to get really worried. We didn't even make it to the last Joann, but I could not believe that it took us that long. If we were just picking stuff we liked it would be fine, but looking for specific things and matching colors takes so much longer.
I tried to scrapbook after dinner....

2 of us went in the hot tub for over an hour, it was great, I've only been in a hot tub once before. Got zero scrapbooking done after that. The next morning I finished a page and we packed up around noon and left. made another stop at Joann since there was a new sale and material OF COURSE was now on sale. a lot of it was probably still more expensive with 40% off than Hobby lobby with 30% off, so oh well. I got some stuff (TOO MUCH STUFF) at 40% off. The clearance was 50% off too and I got some sort of knit material for PJ's there for V and me. I bought just over 5 yards of it and it was $6/yard clearance so I only paid $3/yard!!! I also bought like 5 yards of pink fabric with little silver tiara's all over it, it was so cute. And a bunch of other stuff. We had a 50% off coupon burning a hole in my pocket and were about to check out and remembered to check the sewing baskets as we've been wanting one. I'm not sure that we found the actual aisle with the sewing baskets since the ones we did find were with or near the clearance section. We scored 1 of the big ones regularly $45 for $20! AND it's cute! We also got a smaller one for $15 and two super cute pin cushions! score! We walked away happy! My bill was $200 at that store alone, but we got great deals and got most of what we needed.
There are still some things that need to be bought and we'll do it slowly.
Just have to find the time to get started on these customs
