V.E.A should I be worried?

After reading various posts about the mad scrum I am starting to get worried about our trip to D.L.P. I am not the best traveller as it is and am starting to worry that after we land at C.D.G it will be like being in a boxing ring trying to get on the shuttle. Do many of you find that it's full of rude and aggresive folks all fighting to get on? I have spent days worrying about this and I am starting to worry it will spoil my trip.

Do you know which terminal at CDG you will be landing at?

My flights land at terminal 1, which is the first VEA stop - so no, there is no pushing and shoving/angry mob at terminal 1. Not in my experience anyway (3 VEA trips from CDG to DLRP in just over a year).

I've read that Terminal 1 is a nightmare to navigate and it's putting me off flying from our local airport with Flybe, from what I've read they fly into T1.
What do think Elaine ?
Only flown into T2 before and thought that was OK.
Thanks
Jill :)

I've only ever flown into T1 at CDG Jill - just follow everyone else, and you can't get lost :rotfl: !

From your arrival gate, you take a really long moving walkway, then follow signs for baggage and exit - it takes you up one flight in a glass moving walkway/escalator thingy, then you're right there at the baggage carousels. From there, you have no more floors to navigate, as the exit is on the same floor, and only about 50 yards away, from the baggage carousels.

I haven't got lost once at T1 - and my sense of direction isn't brilliant.

I've also taken the TGV into CDG from DLRP, and used the CDGval internal tram between terminals 2 and 1 - again with no problems.

I'm a bit worried about the VEA shuttle too. I will be landing at Terminal 2. I have used it twice before from the airport & both times had to wait over an hour because the bus didn't turn up when it was supposed to. Both times was off peak & at Terminal 3 so there wasn't many people. But this time it will be peak season, so I don't know what to expect. I may look into the TGV or RER into Paris & back out again (have done the RER route before) as we will only have hand luggage.

If you only have hand luggage Karen, the TGV will be easy enough for you.
I usually get the TGV back from DLRP To CDG, and its no problem, even at 5.30pm.

I'm sure it was Terminal 2 we flew into last month and the VEA stop had changed from previous trips but having thought about it the staff were great, they were waiting outside the baggage collection area and were clearly telling people where to go (up past McDonalds) and outside. It was a bit chaotic when people boarded but there was plenty of room and coming back we were the only family which boarded at our hotel which was great :) we did however nearly miss our flight but that's another story !!

I have no idea what terminal we will land at, we have not got our tickets as yet. We booked the entire package through Disney and they say they will email the tickets two weeks before we leave :( The only thing I know is the flight time we land in the afternoon

We had a bit of a nightmare with the VEA. We flew into Teminal 2 with Air France. We then had to get on a train one stop to collect our baggage which i was not expecting, i began to panic and was convinced we had done something wrong, i couldn't find anyone from our flight.
It was right and with bags in tow we then tried to find the VEA stop, now i was expecting big signs pointing you in the right direction but there was nothing absolutely zilch, and no-one to ask.
Eventually after walking round for a good 15 mins i spotted a side exit and on a sign next to it in very small writing it said VEA.
Definately not the best of starts!

Oh no.. we are flying with Air France also. Hmm mental note not to panic...

Well that doesn't sound so bad, thanks for putting my mind at ease Elaine, so now Cardiff is back as an option for travel. :thumbsup2

We went in May and waited nearly 1 hour for our VEA transfer - a car of men in suits arrived with walkie talkies and, as is always the way, 3 busses came at once. I think they do try to make sure the service is running but there were a lot of narky people waiting - it didn't get them anywhere!

The return trip from our Hotel was a smooth as can be - we were quite impressed!

Sure you'll be fine

Have a great time

So are we. :worried:

I have to say I wasnt concerned at first about catching the shuttle bus from the airport. I thought it would be just like in WDW, ie leaving the airport and meeting up with the bus driver who had a list of all his passengers' names and hotels.

I have to say when I went in February we did the day trip to Paris and even though 3 or 4 big coaches pulled up to take us, I was horrified at how everyone else just pushed past us to get on the coach. And I mean REALLY PUSHED past us.

I am not travelling with little ones in October. I will be with my husband, my son who will just have turned 15, and my daughter who is 12. I have already warned them about these posts/threads and I have said we will NOT just be pushed around this time.

We have planned that Hubby and Son will load the suitcases, and me and DD will jump on quickly and grab 4 seats.

I know this sounds awful to plan to "get on first" and I apologise in advance. We will not be rude, and we will not push anyone, but we will not be pushed around ourselves either.

Our Air France flight arrives at 9am on a Sunday morning, so I'm hoping the airport may be fairly quiet at this time anyway, and the above strategy will not be needed.......

Oh dear, our flight lands in the afternoon :( I really do not want to be pushed around because I am pregnant. I may phone up and see if we can cancell the V.E.A and get a private taxi instead
