On our honeymoon in May 2001, we had dinner at Victoria & Albert's. After dinner coffee was brewed at our table in a glass contraption heated by a flame. First, was this coffee or espresso? and secondly, have you ever seen a coffeemaker like this for retail sale?

They were very popular about 50 years ago....you can buy them...and here is a LINK to one source of them.

I hope this helps yer! :)

It's coffee, but strong. Expresso is made by forcing a small amount of extremely hot water through a large amount of coffee to get the highest possible amount of infusion. (You also get a high amount of caffiene and VERY strong taste as a result.)
