DH and I are going to WDW together in July without our son. We were trying to do some "grown-up" things and had the IPO at AKL book us a reservation at V&A. Now, I've read that dinner takes three to four hours. I think that might be more time than I'm willing to spend at dinner. We're total foodies and love fine restaurants---Mario Batali's Babbo is a favorite---but I'm not sure we'd have the patience for that leisurely a meal. Is three to four hours an exaggeration or is that accurate?

The Main Dining Room is about 2¼-2½ hours. The Chef's Table and the Queen Victoria Room tend to run -4¼ hours as there are many more courses.

I think our last meal was just under 3 hours. The meal is extremely well paced; there's not large gaps of time, but it is not rushed, either. We did add a cheese course to our meal, that probably made it a bit longer; it takes a bit of time for the coffee (trust me, soooo well worth it.)

Although 3 hours is a long time to spend on dinner at a chain restaurant, it really isn't too long to spend on a dinner with multiple courses, exceptional service and exquisite ambiance.

I really don't think you would be dissapointed; it is dinner AS entertainment and experience, not a prelude to other plans.

When we go at 6:00, we are almost always out by 8:30. That's the main room.

Thanks. We are in the main dining room and our reservation is at 6:30. The IPO CM said they only do one seating per night in the summer. Normally, when we eat out in Manhattan, a meal won't take more than two hours---with the exception of Bouley--- but most of the places we frequent do several seatings a night. V&A doesn't have that pressure and i want to enjoy and appreciate the meal, but, at the same time, I don't want to be drowsing off after a long day at the Magic Kingdom. We were hoping for a romantic and delicious dinner.

2.5 hours although my last visit to the Chef's Table was done in about 2 hours time.
