UY question?

If we only go to Disney in Nov..... what UY should I be looking into to get an optimum choice at the 11th moth window?

Not sure why UY would matter...for November reservations, you can always make a res at your home resort in January.

I asked about UY a few days ago and Doc replied that if you travel around the same time each year try to get a UY just before you travel so if you cancel you will still have plenty of opportunity to bank points if you need to.

UY has nothing to do with when you make a ressie. As long as the points that you need to stay will be in your account at the time you check in (11 months after making ressie) you can reserve 11 months ahead.

Actually, the 11 month window for a November reservation would be the preceding December.

Use year has nothing to do with when you can make a reservation. That is always 11 months prior to check out for your home resort and 7 months prior to check out for a non-home resort.

Use year determines your banking windows. As AlaskaMOM just posted, if you always travel at the same time of the year, try to get a use year just prior to that time. If you plan to travel in November, an October use year would be ideal. Augsut or September would work well, too. (There are no use years for for January, May, July or November).

Use year only matters if you think you will have to cancel a vacation that was scheduled for late in your use year - that's because your 100% banking deadline will have passed and points that are not used or banked before the end of the use year expire.

Keep in mind that your travel pattersn may change over the course of your membership. What you think is "perfect" right now may not turn out to be so perfect in the future.
