:sick::sick::sick::sick::sick::sick:

I made the ultimate mistake and looked at our airfares

They've dropped nearly $600 EACH

Can't cancel them.

Zuji ringing them Monday to see if we can get ANYTHING back..

Not holding my breath though...

Far out :sad2:

depends on who you fly with and the conditions..if they are cheap cheap ones there is no refunds cancellation, but sometimes you can change the flight/ or date of departure (day before/behind for a fee) and then get refund on the price. That may work....

I feel your pain....good luck.

Thanks Karen, we'll see how we go, but with the way the world is right now it seems everybody (except for me ) is holding onto every last dollar LOL

The booking is with Delta so who knows, I was prepared for a small drop but $600 each is too much to let go without trying to get some of it back, but like I said, i'm not holding my breath (although a medical reason is ok to cancel the tickets LOL...joking)

awesome ..its with delta
they try really hard to be helpful

LOL at least you've given me a little hope, thank you my love

Zuji are ringing them Monday, if they can't help i'll try them myself.

I did have to laugh at the lady on the phone "why are you wanting to change the ticket?"
My reply "umm to save myself close to $2000"

An e-ticket would be fine, just another excuse to take off...

My DH says "I was going to buy some scallops today, $30 a kilo"
To him I say "so, I could have bought 60 kilos of scallops with the money i'd saved if I waited a week..."

Best I stop torturing myself...

dont allow zuji to tell you they cant do anything after contacting them, ring if no joy.

Twitter delta assist now with the issue, they reply fairly instantly. And good PR for them if they resolve it on-line for you.I have found them ooba helpful.

The only issue with the e -voucher is you cant combine them any more..we used to be able to pool all of them for one ticket, now each person will have to use them individually...rules changed at the end of 2011 much to everyone's annoyance and angst.

So a refund would be the best .
If you do have to talk to delta, and get no joy with the consultant, ask to talk to a supervisor, if no joy then a manager.

I do love Delta.....:cloud9:

Just tweeted them (I do :lovestruc Twitter ) so we'll see, a refund would be great (although unlikely i'm sure )

DH just says "It is what it is, but I don't look at the bank accounts "
But if I can try to reduce our costs by that much, why wouldn't I try?

Its best not to look at flight prices after you have booked. ! :thumbsup2

so true...I just looked at V aust prem econ..they have dropped $500 from when I booked ANZ..so if I'd waited I'd be $500 richer and flying V instead of ANZ...

oh well, maybe another glass of white will deaden the pain :rolleyes1

so, if you are looking for prem econ in sept.....$2880 rtn....V Aust...I'm here to help:lmao:

Maybe I should have had some wine (although Wednesday nights effort was quite enough, hangovers at work are not fun LOL)

We're Virgin Velocity members, which program is better? Delta or Velocity? LOL spose I should join Delta incase we have to fly with them again to use a credit...we'll see what happens...

Not stalking you or anything, but watching your tweet with interest..

You can claim points on velocity for delta flights...I just like delta more as they have a better points program especially for internal flights in the USA. So join both.

Gotta love twitter:thumbsup2

As for my 'issue'....not telling the DH.....he's on a need to know basis...and he really doesn't need to know:rotfl:

Oh that is SO annoying for you becpee and australiankaren! :headache:

Yeah, won't do that again

Yeah, i'm interested to see if they reply at all.

LOL at your DH, my DH doesn't need to know either, and he doesn't even care (sad that :scared1:)

Not losing anything by joining both programs, and you never know, maybe we'll be using Delta again LOL

I wonder if I notify ANZ and let them know Vaust is cheaper, do you think they may match the price???

I may just tweet them.....

Re delta, if you have a spare day or two before you have to return home, when you check in at LAX, got to the gate desk and ask if they need voluntary offloads, if they do they will
  • fly you home business the next night or next available flight
  • give you accom at LAX hotel
  • meal vouchers
  • e- coupon for between $300 & $700 usd
I have flown home business 2 years in a row with this, and got enough e coupons for a free economy flight to LAX.
stayed at hilton lax & westin LAx
but be quick at the gate before everyone else....around 1.5 hrs before boarding.
Shhhhhh, dont tell anyone else...our little secret

Great info :thumbsup2
DH has decided we want to try this LOL

Is he of stout heart and hard elbows....cause that is what you may need....

check in 3 hrs before, go straight to gate, do not nilly nag along the way, possi yourself next to the desk at your gate and when you see the agent rock up for the flight..pounce...

now you may not all survive(ok, DH may not), but he would have given his life for you & your loved ones to enjoy business for 14 hrs.....
dont be put off by travelling with little people, they too can enjoy the joys of business..seen it before...12 yr old girls , old people, bogan aussies...all are welcome..
and you get all the privileges of business travel IE: skylounge access before your flight the next night, so no slumming with the little people...

IMPORTANT: if you are going to take this challange, for the love of god & the comfort of others who have paid $8K for their tickets.... pack clean clothes for the following day, as your bags will possibly (50% of the time) make the flight without you....but ask if they can be offloaded...

He's a brave man....may the force be with him...:wizard:
