UT ticket question

My parents have a reservation separate from us in September. Looking to buying their tickets through UT. My mom will be going to the parks for 5 days, my dad will do 3 days. Can I buy two different sets of park hopper days and still link them to MDE? Or do they have to be identical in number of days, and then have to upgrade at the resort?
