Well, today's Thursday, DW's not feeling well today so while she's napping I'll do a litttle dis-boarding.
First the room report, ( we are in a studio, rm 375): Where to begin. At first glance, all appeared well. But since we all know BCV has "issues" I decided to dig a little deeper. I stood on the bed and attempted to put my fingers inside the ceiling fan motor to check for dust when a sudden whack in the head reminded me to turn it off first. The end result though is that BCV needs to hire taller maids - at least a few 7 footers - because it was obvious to me that the inside of the fan motor had not been vacuumed in at least a week or two.
While the carpet was clean, we suspected it may have been a little faded from age. We just had to know. We had to have ammo for the dis boards so we moved the dresser/tv stand onto the balcony, the bed out into the hallway and the sofa into the bathroom. Low and behold we were right. With all the lights on, standing in the corner with the thermostat, squating down to an eye level approx 34.7 inches from the floor and cocking my head 45 degrees to the right I could clearing see where the carpet had faded. DW could not see this at first, but I told her to squint & use her imagination and suddenly it was clear to her also.
There were mechanical issues also. While sitting in bed Wed nite watching the Yankees choke, I noticed that the lamp on DWs side of the bed was 9...maybe 10 lumens brighter. My first thought was to give BCV the benifit of the doubt & assume it was because DW's lamp received power from the switch first and the addition four feet of electrical wiring was simply causing a voltage drop, thus the lower lumens. But after flicking the switch on and off several times it was obvious my assumption was wrong as my light was coming on first, thus her lamp should have been dimmer. Well, the next step was to reverse the light bulbs. It was then I discovered why BCV will never be a resort up to the standards of OKW. Since I know you's are all on the edge of your keyboards wanting to know what "illuminating" discovery I made, I will tell you............................ eventually............................. OK. Here's the scoop. One lamp had a GE bulb, the other a Sylvania. Now, if I was being paid to advertise for either bulb company, I'd let you know which one was brighter. But since I'm not you'll just have to inspect your own light bulbs.
As of this typing we are still waiting for the results of our tub tile grout scrapings. Miami CSI assures us we'll have the results before we leave on Sunday. They are doing a full spectrum analysis to determine what body fluids the last Democrat left on the tile which the liberal housekeeping staff failed to clean off.
Well, that's all for now. There will be more Gore'y details as I invent them later.
