Actually first class can take 2 to 9 days, on average it takes 2 to 5 days if it's going from large city to large city.
The USPS is the largest user of cargo space on passanger airlines. Outside of major cities it could be transported by ground till it reaches your city.
As much as people want to complain, the post office isn't losing money by postage, it's the government dipping thier hands into it all. Since the post office is part of the government, they're not allowed to make a profit. That's why retirement and pension plans were so great. Greedy idiots saw the money and decided to use it for themselves, and take that money away from the post office. Now the post office has to come up with ways to pay out those retirement benefits and current wages.
It's robbing from the left to pay the right hand. People don't always realize it's part of the government. People would pitch a fit if they raised taxes, but most people dont care about postage going up.

so EFT was out of the question. Their engineering changes are made in pencil on blueprints. We asked them to start sending checks FedEx.
be aware that MANY people have been saying (in person and around the internet) that the IRS refund site has been less than accurate this year-often the refunds haven't been deposited/mailed until later than the IRS site said it would.
