Using your 40% - do you keep the money or spend on a better room?

Just curious... When you get your 40% discount code, does that motivate you to:
- Stay at your same favorite hotel and pocket the savings
- Try a more expensive hotel because now you can afford it
- Get an upgraded room view or concierge level at a discounted price

I'm still dreaming about getting a PIN email or postcard.

I got a pin code this week for the first time and am going to upgrade to a deluxe hotel. I thought about pocketing the savings but then I thought this might be the only time we can afford to stay in a deluxe hotel!

We spent our last visit at a value and receiving another coupon code has spurred us to try a moderate on our next visit. We figure it will probably be our last for a few years anyway.

we used the 40% code for a week long stay at AKL, instead of a split stay between a value and the deluxe. Plus some extra savings we intend to pocket.

I just got my first pin code ever and I am soooooooo excited. I'm going to book my DD's Adoption Day trip AND our Christmas Trip. We may actually get to stay at the elusive Poly which never seems to be available when I make our reservations and is the only resort that we haven't tried yet. My DD will be thrilled if I can surprise her with the Poly for Adoption Day as she dreams about staying there.

I just got the 40% and up graded to the AKL and the Beach Club. We had a reservation for the POFQ earlier in August but I really wanted to stay at a Deluxe and we are doing th same vacation for about the same, but I did give up the dining plan.

We're usually always at mods, but this time since the code came, we did Poly & GF. Never would have spent the money on a deluxe like these unless the code was available. This is such a treat!!!!!!!!!

I'm pocketing the money for right now. If a better deal comes out later in the year I may upgrade resorts. I'm hoping to get a bounceback offer when we go and then book a shorter trip in 2010 for the Poly. I've always dreamed of the Poly but I don't think I can afford a 7 night trip. So I'm hoping to do a 5 night trip.

I had planned (wanted!) the Poly, but was looking at Wilderness Lodge because it was less $$$$. But since I got the code, I am now booked for 9 nights at the Poly! (woohoo!) I doubt seriously that I'd be staying there for that length of time without the code.

We pocket the money. We have no desire to spend the extra for a mod or deluxe, we like to go on more or longer vacations with the savings. Guess we are about quantity and not the "best" quality on this issue but I'll take another trip to Vegas and stay at disney for 9 days instead of 6 or 7 at Disney and no Vegas trip. Having said that, if money was no issue of course I'd take the mod or the deluxe but it is. Heck I'd rather stay at a value and get the deluxe dining plan (we have the basic with our package).

My boyfriend says all the hotels look the same with your eyes closed anyway and we aren't ones to hang around in the hotel. We are out and about.

We already splurged for the CR so I applied the code to our current reservation and pocketed the money.

I also booked our Oct trip at the BC (which we were going to stay at anyways) but upgraded to CL!

I booked GF CL for a 3 night stay in Dec

Since there is no way I would be able to swing CL for rack rate we decided to take advantage of the 40% off and live it up!

I plan to use my 40% for CL. we planned on staying at one of the deluxe resorts for sure but this just makes us want to spand around the same amount we would have just now we will have CL.

It is a fabulous deal!! I am at the mercy of what is available at the time I get around to booking though. I hope the travel gods are with me the day I book. I really want CL. It is our treat to ourself for graduating Nursing school. A bunch of Mommies going to WDW without kiddos and without the fellas. heheheh

After receiving a 40% off code prior to my last trip we switched from CBR to the GF because I could never justify spending that much on a room otherwise.

Not sure that was such a great idea though since we loved it so much and now cannot imagine staying anywhere else!!

We tend to think of good discounts as excuses to plan more trips rather than as ways to save on trips we'd have taken otherwise. That's how "once in a lifetime" turned into "once every couple-few years" then into once a year or more since I discovered the DIS, Mousesavers, and all those other great Disney resources out there.

The first time we got a PIN code, we planned a special trip just to take advantage of it and stayed at a better hotel than we'd otherwise have chosen (BC instead of a mod).

My original plan with this latest code was to take the same trip we'd have taken otherwise (AKL) and just have extra spending money, but instead we're heading down with the extended family and not using the code at all unless I can figure out how to make a short fall trip (for F&W festival) fit into our budget.

I got mine in the mail. It is printed on a tri fold flyer. The pin# is located above your name in the addressed to box. It is a very long number. It has many different dates that you can scheduale a visit on to apply your 40% off for.

Not sure how one gets on the mailing list but we did just visit WDW back in August 2008. Not sure if that is it or if it was associated with a complaint our last traveling buddies had while we were there. Just not sure how we got it but I am VERY HAPPY we did. Hope you get one soon.


All I can say is request the current vacation planning DVD (we didi) or call the DTC for a regular package quote quote and do not book anything--tell them you are just gathering general info re: finances for a possible future trip. It doesn't cost anything to inquire. Maybe you will get put on a list. I have been in contact with DTC and requesting travel plnners every year for the past 2 years and this is my first ( no second) flyer in the last 2 years. Hummm.. Maybe there is something to the requests. hummm.
