Using tickets before check in?

Hello. I am doing a split stay at a non Disney resort (won a free stay) and then at POP. Even though we don't check in to POP until April 2, would we be able to use our Disney park tickets on the day we arrive (March 30)? We will be at the non-Disney resort that day.

Yes can use them, it just takes away days from the entitlement. If you bought tickets that correspond to your # of days at the Disney resort that would leave you without enough days, but you can add some.

Is your stay at Pop a package (room and tickets) or just the room?

Haven't officially booked yet, but was going to do it as a package. Should I do room only and then add tickets?
That is probably your best deal but check both. I believe even if you decide on a package there is a way to use the tickets earlier.

I would consider it. Tickets bought as part of a package are not technically valid until the date you check in. This means you would need to activate them before use (basically an extra stop at Guest Relations), and more importantly, you would not be able to book FPs for the days before that until you arrived at WDW. That can be important if you wish to secure hard-to-get FPs for those earlier days.

Good point! I didn't even think of that. Thank you for your help!
