When we stay in hotels, we ask usually ask Housekeeping to clear out the fridge so that we can put our own stuff in there, eg. drinks, medication.

Have any of you on the Forum done this during their stay at the Disneyland Hotel?

Do you think they would entertain our request?

I've not had first hand experience, but if you explain that you need to refrigerate medication then I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

The minibar in the rooms in the DLH operates by weight when you remove an item you are charged. Even moving items slightly or putting things on top of items causes charges. We usually ask for it to be kept locked to prevent the kids moving things. It is not a fridge as such and is not designed for storing anything at low temperatres eg. milk, yoghurt etc. I'm sure if you ask at check in they will have a fridge somewhere you can store medication. The on site hotels don't have fridges.

To keep other things cold we usually fill one of the sinks in the bathroom with ice. Theres an ice machine at the end of the corridors.

thank you! this is very helpful to know.

And thanks for the tips about ice in the sink.

To back that up our DD was on antibiotics that needed keeping cool when we went to HNY last year. We asked when we checked in and they said we could not put it in the minibar but that they would keep it chilled for us. We decided it wasn't worth the hassle of going to reception 3 times a day so took our chances with the minibar.

The bottle was quite light so we gently placed it on the coke cans and it worked ok without incurrung any charges.

When we went in the summer this year DD was still on morning and evening bottles of milk and we used the ice in the sink trick to keep the open cartons cool over night, which worked a treat. Just make sure you've got something big enough to collect a decent amount of ice, otherwise you'll be in for a dozen trips down the corridor to the ice machine to get enough.

Nice job! You have really put up nice tip on ice in sink.
Thanks for this. I like it.
