So I just got a Disney Visa and we are planning on taking a trip this next March. I definitely want to use it to book my vacation since you get 0% for 6 months. My question is though- do you have to pay for the whole thing up front? And if I do that am I still able to take advantage of possible discounts that may pop up before my trip- like free dining or room discounts. I was under the impression if your trip was paid for you couldn't add discounts and I would have to cancel my reservation and book a new one. Am I able to just charge the deposit but also get 0% for the rest of it too? Thanks!

It does not have to be paid in full until 30 days prior.
You can just pay the $200 deposit and get the 0% apr for 6 months for that and then any time you make a payment it will start another 0$ apr for 6 months for that amount.
Personally I pay the deposit and then my sister and I split the rest putting my portion on my Disney visa and her portion on her Disney visa right around the 30 day mark so we both get the 0% apr for 6 months.

I can't speak about changing reservations because I wait to book until the discount I want is released.

If your trip is paid, you can still add a discount. Whether or not your trip is paid in full, though, you may have to cancel and rebook to get the discount depending on availability. (For instance if you book a standard room at POP but the discount is only on preferred view rooms, then you would have to cancel and rebook whether or not you were paid in full).
After the pay in full date, you could get charged a fee for cancelling or changing a reservation, but that is by date.

As PP noted, with the 6 months financing, there really isn't a big advantage to paying in full way before the PIF date.

Yes, as others have said, you can pay just the deposit and get the 0% financing. Then each payment you make after that will qualify for it's own 0% financing 6-month period. You can change your reservation to add a discount or other offer, whether it has to be canceled and rebooked may depend what you currently have booked and what is required for the special offer. Changing from a package reservation to a room-only (or vise versa) will definitely result in a cancel/rebook as those are separate reservation systems. Keep in mind that the 0% financing is only available for packages -- if you end up with a room-only reservation, you won't have the financing available to you.

Enjoy your vacation!
