Using SPG Points for something other than upgrades

Hello, all. My family and I are staying at the Dolphin during our June trip to Disney World. I have question regarding SPG points. Have any of you used SPG points for something other than free/reduced/upgraded rooms? I believe I have read on here something about using the points for food credits or instant awards. Does anyone know anything about that?

Although I have not used the instant rewards yet, I plan on doing so this trip.

I did some research & according to the Swan/Dolphin 1500 points = $20. This is also the minumum you can redeem, so if your bill is $13.50 it will still cost you 1500 points. These points are good at all the restaurants except Shula's.
