We are thinking of using our SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) points for a visit next year. The standard room is 10,000 points. Has anyone done this before and maybe they could help with the following questions:

Do you still have to pay any of the add on resort or parking fees?

How many points to upgrade to a club level or suite?

Since our kids are older we were planning to get adjoining rooms, which will use up the points quickly.

Just wondering what others experiences have been.

I have - if you book four nights the 5th is free so it's 40,000 pts for 5 nights.

There will be no more club level after May so you could use your points for upgrading to a resort view or a suite (suite is A LOT more points). The SPG website has all the details under the "redeem" section"

If you can get a discounted room (teacher, nurse, etc) you may find it's a better deal then spending 40,000 pts - but if your alternative is to pay rack rate then the 40,000 maybe worth it.
