Hi everyone!

Being brand new to the dining plan I was wondering how do you use your snack credits. I don't mean how do they work....I'm curious as to how you use them....do you use them as snacks, lite breakfasts, mostly for drinks, desserts.....that sort of stuff

I'd be curious to hear!

Last year when DH and I went, it was so warm we used most of ours for bottles of water and Mickey ice cream bars!! They were lifesavers on those hot Florida afternoons! :worship:

We usually use ours for drinks or snacks in the parks. We also use them to buy Mickey Rice Krispie bars in the POP food courts, a tasty way to spend a snack credit :thumbsup2

We've done the DDP multiple times and found that we really didn't use our snacks that much during the trip. We just weren't hungry. We did use a few for sundaes at the resort food court at night and maybe for a Dole Whip float occasionally, but normally we have most of our snack credits left over at the end of the week. We then go down to Goofy's Candy Store in DTD and use up our snack credits our last day on fudge, chocolate covered mint slab smoothies, make your own decorated pretzels, etc to bring home. Now we have gone during the Food & Wine Festival and used our snack credits to eat around the world at the food booths. In fact, that's what I plan on doing with them during my Sept 26th-Oct 6 free dining trip.:cool1: I don't know if I have ever used a snack credit for breakfast, because I usually pack granola bars or Pop tarts for breakfast (if we even eat breakfast:rolleyes1 ).

Never been on DDP but we plan on using quite a few at Goofy's and then the rest for pastries, etc. I figure we'll get our fill of ice cream during dinners. I'm sure my son will need at least one mickey bar though.

I am planning on using ours for fun snacks (ice cream, candies, pastries etc), but that may change once we get there.

We usually get a few things to take home, a few fruit bowls, and a few snacks in the parks. We still have some mint chocolate coins I got in November.

I usually use them for things such as dried fruit (found in the resort gift shop, etc.). I almost never use them for beverages as we take sports bottles with us on our trips and between the use of the resort mug with free refills and the drinks included with our regular meals, we never lack beverages. (We fill the sports bottles from the mugs before leaving for the park in the morning and in the afternoon and also with any remaining beverages from our meals.)

We too take breakfast items with us (granola bars, fruit, etc.) as we are not big breakfast eaters.

We get a little better at it every trip. At first, we pretty much just used them for bottled water & popsicles. Now we get more creative, thanks to the wonderful DIS snack sticky! Last trip, we used a lot of them at the Confectionary on Main Street for sweet treats for the room and to take home. We also stopped at the Main Street Bakery one day and got pastries to have for breakfast in the room the next day. And I'm slowly getting around to trying all the DIS legends... Finally tried a Dole Whip last trip, and took the kids to Goofys for the make-your-own treats. Next trip, I've got to work in schoolbread somehow.

We did still have way more credits than we needed, but that was fine too because the kids each picked out Mickey treats to bring home for their classmates (11 nights on the deluxe plan, 88 snack credits in all, and we had exactly the 36 we needed for the kids to get enough for their classes left on our last day! LOL)
