Using Sheet Magnets for Door Decorations

Hi

My granddaughters and I finally finished our door decorations for our cruise. The magnets I am using for them are 'adhesive magnetic sheets' cut into appropriate rectangles. I choose these because they were lighter and thinner than the 'adhesive magnet roll' or the 'magnetic buttons'. However, I am now worried that they are not strong enough to hold our decoration on a door. Our decoration are foam cutouts decorated with glitter, self-adhesive rhinestones and plastic spiders so they are blow-away-by-the-fan light.

Does anyone have experience with the sheet magnets? Was it positive? Negative? Should I redo? Bring back-up?

Thank you in advance for any info.

As long as you are not in Concierge on the Dream or Fantasy, those should work just fine. The Concierge doors have a wood veneer on them making use of the rubber-type sheet magnets impossible.

I've used something similar - the magnet that comes as a strip, all rolled up, with adhesive backing. It works just fine!

Nope, these are flat sheets, 5 in. X 8 in. The pic on the front shows using them to turn photos into magnets for the fridge.

I've used what you described and haven't had any problems with our decorations not staying on the doors( 2 cruises, soon to be 3 using them) None of our decorations are made from fun foam. If you have a lot of stuff on it and it's too heavy for the magnet, just add more of the magnetic sheet to it if possible. I try to cover the entire back of our decors with the magnetic sheet.

I print my magnets on magnet paper and have no problem with them sticking to the door. I have reused them for several cruises and they still hold.

If you doubt the strength of your magnets (happens to me sometimes), take a few of the small round magnets that are super strong. Opening and closing your stateroom door, encountering wind or having too much material to display can leave a pile on the floor...not good. Glad you are joining the door decoration crew.

I have used the sheets-no trouble sticking to the door. However, ours were not embellished. So if they are heavy, you may have an issue. To avoid disappointment, I would bring back up

Test them on your frig for a few days then you will know if they are strong enough
Thank you so much for this suggestion. I took it and discovered the magnets stuck to the fridge no problem but the couple of glitter foam cutouts were too heavy for the adhesive and peeled right off the magnet! Luckily the glitter foam also had adhesive so I just peeled some of the backing off, restuck the magnet on and they are holding strong. But if I had not tested it out, it would have been a pain and a time suck our first day on the ship.

So thank you again.
