Using RAC with baggage fees?

Hi everyone,

We almost always fly JetBlue, so I haven't encountered this yet. We will be flying AA this trip because the flights were much cheaper, even with baggage fees. My question is, can we use RAC if we have to pay baggage fees? Would I pay at the desk at check-in or need to pre-pay? I'm hesitant to pre-pay until I see exactly how many bags I will need to check. Thanks!

When we went to Disney World last fall , the luggage check in collected the baggage fee right there when we gave them our luggage.

I think it depends on the airlines. Last fall we had to pre-pay by telephone, and when we went to RAC they had the information that we had pre-paid.

How far in advance did you call to pay by phone?

When we got the ME packet in our room the day before, it had instructions and telephone numbers for RAC to call. We called the day before our trip home and paid by credit card over the telephone. They gave us a confirmation # and we gave that to the RAC desk. It worked fine.
