Using pools if not a guest

I agree 100% with you on this point!!! They do have the pool "housekeeping" CM's who remove/stock pool towels, they could do the checking (they wear the blue shorts, lifeguards wear red). Lifeguards absolutely need to focus on safety, though they could make it a position in the lifeguard rotation that would not take them away from their normal lifeguard duties (monitoring the pool).

Yes, they are a separate position, just better to keep a distinction. Plus I doubt lifeguards will want to take on that additional duty of playing a quasi-security guard.

The bigger question is how all these “people” are getting to the pools to begin with.

Disney may need to find a way to limit resort space to paying guests. I realize this is hard but it can be done. I cannot walk into the plaza hotel in nyc for example unless I am staying there. Not all hotels are completely open access. There are certain spaces Disney should be reserving for the people paying to stay there. It is probably vlogging that makes this an issue. There are too many vloggers using resort space as if it is their living room. And then they inform everyone else how to do it. There is nothing wrong with the occasional non guest meandering about a hotel, but it is starting to reach a critical mass.
Disney is starting to do this. For example, you cannot get into lounge space in the poly tower without a room stay. I have no doubt that they will be doing more of this in the future.

The best way to do this is to limit the influx from Disney springs. Otherwise I’m not sure what else could be done. I don’t even think people staying at the poly can enter the polyINN’s space. But Disney won’t do that, they literally have a skyliner scavenger hunt and encourage guests to visit the different resorts. What you are suggesting would completely change Disney world.

They don't need lifeguards to man the gates. A regular Disney College Progam CM with a tablet and a pack of wristbands to bolt on to guests for the day. Back in the early days of SAB there were 4-5 Gates open all the time.

Poly guests can use the pools at the new Tower or the OG Poly. Only Tower guests can use the open spaces on the upper floors, though the doors to enter them are not secure doors - it's the elevators that require a room key or MB to use.

I was referring to those open spaces. Again I don’t think it’s as big of an issue as people make it out to be. i do think the Disney springs bus issue is an issue though as that’s how everyone gets there.

That's just not how Disney's business model is set up. O'Hana is open to anyone who wants to eat there, whether they're staying at the Polynesian or not. Disney just has to do a better job of ensuring that only registered guests are in the areas that are supposed to be only for restricted guests. Basically, take the model that seems to be working successfully at Stormalong Bay and apply it property-wide, particularly at the deluxe and popular moderate resorts (like Caribbean Beach).

I drive ~85% of the time when I go to WDW and I don't drive to Springs. I ride the bus. Why would I drive? The buses run frequently enough and are free. I have my car for when I need to go to Walmart, Twistee Treat, etc.

Lots of Disney resort guests choose to stay "in the bubble" when they go to WDW and fly in and don't have a car. I'll be doing that in 2 weeks for a long weekend.

That’s a lot of additional cast members needed. Some pools have numerous gates. Then if they start only allowing entry and exit from one gate people will complain, rightfully so.

Pretty much...it's one of the few lines I don't mind standing on at Disney. And it's never a real line anyway maybe a person or family in front of me at most times. But knowing I'm getting what I paid for is worth that any day in my opinion. Just enforce the pools. No need for any other areas. And as for the vloggers I have mixed feelings. I love watching so many of them and leave them on in the background often but they are getting to be intrusive and a bit too much. Not sure what can be done about that.

My question was regarding like the people actually at Disney springs. Like the make up of them. Of course you should use Disney transportation on your trips. I do, especially since I like to drink at Disney.

I mean Disney clearly has a reason that isn’t don’t in other places. That pool is also right there in the open and on the walkway unlike most other pools

Disney can easily ban them from their parks if they want to just like they can ban the unofficial tour guides from their parks and people from selling products and services in their parks. They chose not to do so though
