Is this a wise thing to do? Is it worth it? I'd appreciate any and all opinions and experiences. Thanks!

It's a personal decision but from a value per points standpoint the math is not very good. If you figure a value of $10 pp the numbers don't stack up as you're looking at a return of around $5-6 pp for DCL, DC, CC and the like. Some bought their points to use and the value pp is not that important to them. You must decide what is important to you.

Are they still doing free passes when you stay on points?
That would make the deal a little sweeter...

Would I call DVC to find this out? That would make a big difference, too.

Hi from europe.....
Just to throw in my opinion.... i dont know how many points you need for your stay in Paris, but i go there regularly paying cash and i can give you some ideas about the hotel prices and offsite possibilities if you like ! Send me a PM with your questions.
On the ticket prices, please keep in mind that Paris sells annual passes for 230 EUR ( 250 USD ) that give you a 20% discount on all shopping and dining you do the first day you use them and 10 percent on every other day. This is good for all merchandise and all food and restaurant bills !!! Depending on your shopping and dining habits ( mine are bad ) this can easily pay for itself !!!!
A nice hotel to stay offsite is the tulip hotel in bussy st george ( www.goldentulip.com search for disneyland paris ) with a metro ( public transportation ) stop 2 minutes away that brings you to the main gate of disneyland paris in 5 minutes !!! And they have some nice restaurant with non-disney prices around, too !!!

good source for information is www.dlp-guide.com

to all other board members, thanks this board is a brilliant source for information, i did stay at OKW in march on rented points !!!

Feel free to ask Paris questions !!!

We looked at this ( staying in the UK ), but it only really makes sense if you have 4 staying in a room.

The points per room for 2 people are kinda high, but for 4 comparing it to the price (dollars) you would have to pay, it works out better .... remembering you get passes included.

(Still don't think its the best of deals for use of points)
