Using points from two different contracts

If you have two contracts with different home resorts, how does the point system work? For instance, say we have a contract at OKW and one at VB. If we wanted to make reservations at OKW at the 11 month window and didn't have enough points, could we transfer what we needed from the VB contract at the same time? Or would we have to use the OKW points at 11 months and wait until 7 months to add points from the VB contract hoping we can still get the dates and accomadtions we want?...smjj

Points are supposed to retain their original resort designation etc. so transferring to take advantage of the 11 month window probably won't help.

I would suggest using the banking / borrowing method. If it's OKW you want this time use the OKW contract and borrow the additional needed points from next year's allotment. Then bank VB this year and you should have enough for the 11 month window there next year (or to switch at the 7 month).

Others will no doubt have more ideas for you. Good luck.

Remember that you can always borrow points from your next use year of the OKW contract also to get that 11 month booking window.

You can always make part of the reservation using the OKW points at 11 months out and then add the days applicable at 7 months out using the non home resort points. There are a few tricks you can use to improve your chances if you're willing to call day by day and put some effort into it.

Or you can just buy more points, as I did several times over! LOL!

When you say two contracts, then the answer depends on what you mean.

1. You have a master contract with an add-on contract. Both contracts are under the same membership number and both will have the same use year month.

2. You have two master contracts, each with it's own membership number, and they may or may not have the same use year month.

If #1, then you simply combine points at 7-months to make a reservation at any DVC resort you want. Prior to 7-months you may only use points designated as a home resort to make a reservation at that resort.

If #2, then you would have to actually transfer the points from one contract to another, and then at 7-months you could combine them to make a reservation.
