Using points for the Del

Has anyone used points for the Del Coronado in California? We're looking for some non theme park ideas-I wish short II stays were easier!

We used our Developer points to book 3 nights partial ocean view for this Oct(had to dip into about 23 of our regular pts) Figured we'd NEVER pay to stay there and even though it's very pricey pt wise per night, we considered developer points freebees. It was going to be a romantic anniversary weekend for me and my husband, but we felt guilty so our 4 and 2 yr old are coming with us and it will be a SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo weekend!

I attended a wedding there in 2001, it was gorgeous. Can't wait to stay there!

We used points to stay at the Del a couple of years ago. We had a fantastic, very large room with great views of the marina (not ocean front). DVC points-users also get to bypass the daily "guest fee" that's charged to regular customers for parking, daily paper, towels, etc. so this was a nice perk. We loved the beach and pool and restaurants and would go back in a minute! Coronado and San Diego were fabulous areas to explore.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what the occupancy is? We have 5 people-don't want to have to get two rooms.
