So I had to cancel a Thanksgiving reservation for 195 points in the past week. When I canceled I was told that I have to use the entire 195 points before the end of my use year, which is August. Member services told me I cannot call for a new reservation until 60 days out since I had to cancel on such short notice.

I believe we are going to be able to take 2 separate trips on the points, one in January and one in May if we book studios both times.

I don't think we'll have too much trouble booking the ressie at the end of January, but I'm a little concerned about the one in May for 7 nights.

My questions are:
1, How hard will it be to get a reservation for some consecutive nights in a studio 60 days out for the middle of May? I know we may have to change resorts a couple of times.

2. How willing is Member Services to spend time working with you to get all seven nights booked? And

3. If I have to change to several resorts, can I book at the 60 day mark of the start of our stay?

4. I am also afraid we might exceed our 195 points by a few. Are those points we can rent from Disney?

Thanks for your help. I was hoping to never have to ask these sort of questions.

May is a relatively easy time to get a reservation so I think odds are good for a single stay especially if you are willing to stay at SSR, OKW or maybe even AKV standard view. MS will work with you to get something set up (CM's do vary on attitude though). If you have to do a split stay then you can't book everything right at the 60 days but will have to call back when you reach the 60 day mark for the next part.

And yes, you could purchase up to 24 points from DVC to complete a reservation.

In my experience holding points sound more scary than they actually are! :)
