Has anyone done this, and would you recommend the cruise and the ship? Also, are there enough older teens/early 20's on board ship for my two kids OR is this strictly an older adult cruise?

Thanks for any info!!

We just finished making reservations for this cruise on July 31st 2004.
we only used points for one passenger and paid cash for the other. it seems like too many points for both,( maybe too many points for one ), but that's why we have them. can't wait to hear of anyone else's experiences.

We went on Holland America's Alaskan Cruise in June 2003. We were on the Volendam. It was a beautiful ship and an excellent cruise! We couldn't part with that many points so we rented our points and used the cash for the cruise.

Most of the other passengers were older than us. We are in our thirties. But, we had a great time and can't wait to do it again. You won't be disappointed!

We just made resv's for HAL for 8/28/04 going on the Zaandam. Its just the 2 of us. We are using points for both of us (205 pp). What I have heard recently that a lot more of younger guests with children are coming in then it used to be. It used to be just for the older (getting younger) generation. I think you and your family will love this Alaska cruise.

The return on the HAL Alaska cruises is usually right at or just over $5 pp, especially if you book far in advance.

We have gone on HAL to Alaska twice, this last time using points -Loved it both times. Still one of our favorite vacations, 2nd to Disney of course. We will do it again and probably use points again.

There's a whole, LONG thread that's been running for a while now on this that should answer your other questions...
