Hello, We are new members and we are using points to stay at the Poly as a Christmas present to our dd's. We wanted to purchase the Dining Plan, but we were told this was not possible because it is not a vacation club property. Has anyone had experience with this and is the Dining Plan not an option for us? Thanks so much in advance.

If you are staying outside of the DVC resorts you are not able to purchase the DDP. I sent an email to WDW asking the same question - here is the response I received.

Thank you for contacting Member Services.

Unfortunately, at this time you can not. This is being addressed but due
to existing system configurations it is not available at this time.

We appreciate your interest in the Disney Dining Plan. We are pleased
to announce that Disney Vacation Club Members are able to participate in
the Disney Dining Plan when staying at one of the five Walt Disney World
based Disney Vacation Club Resorts

****(the plan cannot be added to a Disney Collection reservation). ****

Please note that Members must add the plan to their existing
reservations prior to arrival as it cannot be added at the Front Desk,
and payment will be taken at check-in. The cost of this plan is $37.99
per adult or junior per night and $10.99 per child (ages 3-9) per night,
and includes one table service meal, one counter service meal, and one
snack per person per night of the plan (rates subject to change).
Certain restrictions on using and redeeming your meals may apply.
Additionally, the plan must be purchased for the entire length-of-stay
and for all Guests listed on the reservation.

For more information, you may wish to visit dvcmember.com.

Thank you again for your email. We look forward to speaking with you
soon.

Have a Magical Day!

Thank you so much for the reply, I'll send an email, maybe if enough of us do, we can get the plan someday.

Sent your e-mail. Have a great vacation.

Just like other DVC benefits, the dining plan is negotiated for members and there are limitations to the benefit. If you don't stay at a DVC resort, you are not eligible for the perk. Just like pool hopping. You must be using points at a DVC resort to poolhop.
