Hi,
Typically, how many points per night does it cost to stay at the various hotels at Disneyland Paris? And how does this work? Is availability likely?

Has anyone done this?

Thanks,
Matthew

For 2008, points ranged from 21 to 74 per night depending on resort, season, and night of week. There is a 2 night minimum stay and you must buy corresponding length of stay tickets for each person registered in the room, plus there is a $95 transaction fee.

We went a few times in the past - for some reason the points requirements were lower and length-of-stay tickets and breakfasts were included. The service seemed a bit grudging and DVC meant nothing there (they seemed to have a relationship with another vacation club - Marriott or something - which was advertised everywhere).

Subsequently, the points requirements went up and not only are tix not included, their purchase is mandatory.

Personally, now, I would rather stay in a nice hotel in Paris and take the short train ride out to DLP for a day.

I saw talk of a DVC resort in Paris. Anymore news on that? Or was it just a rumour?

It's just a rumor at this point. The only thing actually in the construction phase not selling yet are villas in Hawaii, Disneyland...and the mysterious BLT! Who knows what the future brings though. :confused3

DVC in Paris seems unlikely, to me, given that Disney don't own the property...

and given my experience of French law... part of my family lives in France...

like, for example, if someone in the UK has a house in France (which millions now do) and you die, French inheritance law applies to that house... and wills aren't valid - the French state says how it's distributed... and, one surprise for many: if the father of a family dies - most of the money goes directly to the kids, so the mother is then financially dependent on the kids...

this made 'sense' centuries ago, when it was seen as important to keep a family's money 'in the family' and under the control of the heirs - so that it wouldn't go to another family if the widow re-married.
these days, it seems kooky at best....

And many such delights would apply to a DVC property ownership. Goes without saying that French people wouldn't be interested - most I've spoken to don't like the fact DLP is there at all. Why oh why was it not built in Spain where customer service is great and the sun shines? The weather in Paris is like the weather in London.
