Using old disney tickets vs getting new ones

I have a bunch of old tickets from previous years that have some days still left on them, some have as many as 5 days left. These do not have pictures on them and I honestly don't remember who used what. I know we never signed anything. Now, we are going back in Aug and I was wondering if I should take these and see what is left and use them up or get new ones for the 3 days that we will be there. If they are requiring pictures or signatures I would just as soon buy some for just these 3 days and save the others for when we go longer or my son takes his family when the kids get older. What would you suggest?

If you use them at this point only the person who uses them the first time on this trip will be able to use the ticket the next time.

We used a couple of old tickets on our last trip without any problems. We asked about just getting them tacked onto our new ticket card thingys we bought with our package, but were told they couldn't do that. We didn't try and experiment by playing musical tickets the days we used them (I'd hate to burn up a day just out of curiosity). No problems. We love having a few "extra" days on our tickets when we come home - means that every now and then we get to have a "free" trip to the parks.

What you can do is go to any park (including water park or TTC) ticket booth or Guest Relations Office and ask them what is remaining on each. You can mark on the ticket with a sharpie or ball point pen.

Just realize that if it was a partially used child's ticket and the child is now ten or older Disney will reissue as an adult ticket at no charge. Also once you use a ticket it will be tied to the user with a finger scan.

Note that they can not be upgraded in any manner, either in number of days or anything else. And as long as they are partially used they cannot be used as partial payment of a new ticket.
