Using military tickets

I hope this is the correct board - any input on this would help me out HUGE.

We are making a trip in September to WDW with my mother and step father. My step dad is retired military so we are planning on purchasing the 4 day hopper pass tickets. He, obviously, is purchasing them through his local branch and all 6 of us are using the tickets. We are staying offsite. My little family of 4 plan on getting up each morning for rope drop. My step dad and mom plan on meeting up with us mid day to explore the parks. Will my family of 4 beable to use those tickets at the entrance (or the gates) to get in without my stepdad being right there? Or is just the purchase of the ticket enough?

Your stepdad will have to be with you all to activate the tickets before you use them. After they have been activated you are free to continue without him.

Perfect! Thank you so much! I can have them with me the first day early on, but I didn't think they would be inteseted in going to the park at rope drop every day like the rest of us. So as long as he is with us for that first day, all the tickets will be activated and we will be able to access the parks for the rest of the week without him. correct?

Last year, we were able to activate our tickets at Guest Services at Downtown Disney the day before we went to the parks. My 18 year old Army son was definitely not interested in rope drop.
