Using MDE to Find Merch In Parks?

I know awhile ago (circa 2015 probably) they had rolled out an option to use the app to find specific merchandise items in the parks. For example, if something was out of stock at Emporium or they didn't have your size, you could find it on the app and see that it was in-stock at Gateway Gifts and WOD. I found reference to that being rolled into MDE in a post from December 2019. However, I can't seem to get it to work; clicking on "shop merchandise" in MDE just takes me to the regular shopdisney website (which has the shirt but not my size). Is there no longer any way to find merchandise via the phone, check to see if something's back in stock, etc? Because if I'm actually at the parks and still have to buy it from resellers...

That was my first instinct. I tried, and both CMs I asked said that they have no way of knowing what's around or being restocked at any point in time. I am suspicious of the answer and may try again at a different store, but was hoping there was some way I could check separately.

Last year, my daughter wanted a Bing Bong from Inside out, and the first store we tried in MK was able to tell us which one had it, and have them put it aside for us for a few minutes in order for us to get there.

I suppose the systems may have changed, and probably did, but I know in MK a few years ago my daughter wanted a dress in a certain size that one store was out of, and they were able to locate it in another store in MK for us, have it put aside for us, and we immediately went and got it. Of course, if the systems haven't changed, they may have different instructions on how to answer depending on how crowded it is, and whether it is a child looking for the item as opposed to an adult.


For a while there was a disney shopping app that let you find merchandise anywhere in the parks. It was great. I can't remember if they ever actually rolled it into MDE, but I have not seen that working on MDE in quite a while. I was sad when they discontinued it.

Personal service has definitely gone downhill at Disney in the last few years. You would think they would want to make it easier to find and buy items, but I guess management figures they make enough sales without assisting their customers.
