Using Magical Express for a split stay

In reading here and googling and on the wdw website, I am trying to figure out the best way for us to use Magical Express...

We are flying into MCO and staying off site for 7 days, then headed to Sanford for two nights, then staying onsite for 3 nights before an early flight out of MCO. So if I return my rental car on my way back from Sanford the morning our three day onsite stay starts, can I catch the magical express to the resort? I am reading that I can book it one way for our departure flight out of MCO...am I reading that correctly?

yes just pick a flight that gets in around when you drop the car off and then book it with DME . When you get to the resort book the return with concierge. Or do both on line
