Can I use GF to make payments in the parks and around the resort instead of charging back to my room via Magic band? If so is the balance update so that I can use the same card multiple times

Disney Gift Cards are accepted everywhere credit/debit cards are accepted and your remaining balance will be printed on the receipt.

I loved using gift cards. Made buying things so painless (no bills afterwards!) I would make sure to get the available amount after each purchase, and even if the cashier says it's "dead" keep the card. Often times there may be a small amount on the card!

You can also charge back to the room and then pay by gift card at your resort. But don't wait until checkout day, it may be charged to your cc on file. They can still credit it back to your cc and then you pay with your gift card, it's just a longer process. Either way works!

You definitely can. We actually carry a 500 dollar gift card that we've printed out and cast members will scan it and treat it like a credit card.

I keep disneygiftcard.com bookmarked on my phone so that I can quickly check the balances on all of my cards. It also allows me to consolidate cards when one gets really low. I just use anything remaining on the cards towards my annual dues.

I used the gift card in my Apple wallet just about everywhere. There were a few exceptions. Once cash register at Joffrey's had a broken scanner, so I just charged it to my MB. I also used my credit card at a few Disney Springs restaurants because I knew it would take longer to use a gift card. Someone already mentioned it, but you could then go to the front desk the day before check out and pay the room charges with your gift card. The Apple wallet doesn't update the gift card balance, but in addition to registering your card on disneygiftcard.com, you'll also see the balance at the bottom of your receipts.

You have already gotten great answers, but I will add that if you want to use the GC for mobile orders or mobile check out in stores, save the GC # and the EAN in a note on your phone to copy and past into the app quickly.

I would also suggest having a physical GC for each adult (or person who will be making purchases), so everyone can pay that way.

My last tip is to tell the cast member that you are using a Disney Gift Card when you check out. It allows them to set things up on their end for easy payment. At least that has been my experience!

I have a Disney gift card with a scan code on it instead of a magnetic strip. I was able to scan the code into a mobile order instead of typing in the 16 digit number. That is a relatively new feature on the MDE app. I thought that was pretty convenient. :)

This is the way! I had older gift cards that didn't have the code (the red card with Mickey from Sams Club/BJs/Target) I ordered a few cards from shopDisney for $10 each just so I had them to transfer to.

This is great advice. I actually had my daughter mobile order on her phone and then the MDE App lets you scan the code of a gift card…so she just scanned it from my phone’s Apple Wallet.

I used to do that but since several people had their disneygiftcard.com accounts hacked and lost all the funds, I stopped leaving cards on the site. I use the site to transfer funds to my main Disney gift card, and then remove all cards from the site.

Agreed, I've read posts here about that happening and fairly large amounts being stolen and there was really little Disney could do. Sad.
