I generally use Firefox (posting this from IE).

I lost the ability to Post New, Reply, Edit in Firefox. Also, the little arrow (looks like > after a name or post) is gone. Any ideas?

Thanks much.

I posted this on Tech board also, but items are not reviewed as quickly there as they are here. Thought I would post here also.

Again, thanks.

I used to use Firefox too and ran into the same problem. Used it for quite some time, and then out of the blue, I lost the icons for quote, post new thread, etc. It was weird. I never did figure it out. Now I use Safari.

I made the switch to Google Chrome a couple of months ago and haven't looked back. Firefox got to the point that it was unusable to me and I couldn't stand it.

I just looked, using Firefox, at two other vBullentin software based boards, www.flyertalk.com and www.howardforms.com, both work fine in Firefox. So whatever the problem is, is only with the disboards. :confused3

I have used Chrome too, but generally wind up back with Firefox, except now on the disboards.

I have the very newest edition of Firefox. 3.6.8 No problems.
Perhaps reinstall or upgrade?

Did you try the usual rebooting of computer? ;)

There was a new upgrade recently. Did you set your FF to automatically update? I've found certain software does not upgrade well, when it just a patch put on top of the previous version. It is much better to UNinstall the whole program, (saving old profiles when available,) and install the newest version from scratch.

Did you just upgrade to version 3.6.8? If so it might be an issue with an add-on. I just upgraded and am having no trouble.

3.6.8 has been running, it updates automatically. I did unistall it, reinstalled. Reboot also. Strange it is only with the disboards, no other similar forum.

Try deleting your cookies. ALL of them in all your Browser programs. Firefox puts them in a different folder than I.E., and I suppose, than Chrome, too.

Also try deleting your cache and Temporary Internet Files.

My instinct is either an Ad Blocker is blocking a whole set of images that serve as the buttons missing, or cache corruption.

Since the images are hosted on www.disboards.com, can you add that site to whatever safe sites are listed on firefox?

I don't have firefox on this computer, so I can't look to see exactly where the tab is to do this.

If you have the Noscript plug-in, you might have to add or change your settings to include www.disboards.com. I had to allow a few extra when I first installed NoScript. I have only partial scripts turned on now from about 51. There are still 19 that I don't need turned on.

It is only on my home desktop. I am out of town now, on laptop, works fine. I have deleted cookie, cache, temps. Do not have adblocker running. I uninstalled current FF version and installed older version, still not working. :confused3.

It occurred when I was answering a PM and hit the back and then forward quickly, in error. Then the icons where gone.

Bren....:lmao:

Ad blocker could very block the images. I had the same thing happen to me. I went into ad blocker delate the block images and everything is okay now.

I fix abode is fix because I download into IE and work fine down.

Do a System Restore to a few days before you answered the PM. :surfweb: :) If you hadn't installed the upgrade of FF on that date, you'll have to do it again. But, check to see if your icons come back first. If not, you can always UNDO the System Restore.

Did a restore, did not correct. I also can not see avatars, but can see disboard countdown tickers.

Really strange. IE and Chrome work, Firefox on my laptops works, just not this PC.

Thanks for the various thoughts here. Have not seen any on the tech help board as yet.

Dan, I knew you'd get a kick out of that!! Hey, guess where DH is taking me for our anniversary next week? To the Lemonade stand!! Woohoo!!!:banana: I am so excited!--even if it is SUMMER. (I have never been to see Mickey Mouse in the summer!) Plus, he got the job and starts on the 9th!:woohoo:

Hope you are having a blast!

Fixed!!! :woohoo:

Googled "Can't see some images in Firefox", this came up....

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/site-news-feedback/101116-cant-see-images-firefox.html

I checked the suggested Tools section and there it was, 'disboards', all by itself. I have no idea how it got in there. :confused3  I deleted the entry, and voila, all is fine. :surfweb: Posting this from Firefox.

Again, I appreciate all the suggestions from the folks here on the community board, always a great help forum.

And wonderful news, Buck. :thumbsup2
