Using Electrical Parade FP+ to view Wishes?

I actually disagree with that writer. The parade FP+ spot is too close to the castle for Wishes, so close that the castle ends up blocking a good chunk of the fireworks. If you use a FP+ for the parade! simply move farther back toward Main Street for the fireworks.

All the pictures I've seen of the Rose Garden viewing area look horrible. Some people have even said there's a huge tree in there that will block most of your view if the CM's push you off to the side. The picture in that article from the parade viewing area doesn't look too close to the castle. It actually looks like it would be a great spot to view the projection show. I wonder if anyone has pictures of the fireworks from that area?

The pictures I've seen of the castle show from the parade viewing are quite good. Now my question would be whether we can easily move to a spot to see fireworks where my very short children will be able to see above other people's waists. I can't hold them both up high. Does the bench around the Mickey statue usually fill up during the parade? It's not on the route exactly but I would assume that people sit there and view the parade from a distance just to be in a good position at fireworks time. I'm confident I can find a decent view of the parade somewhere. It's the straight on view of fireworks without tall people in the way that has me stumped.

I completely agree. We did this back at the end of May and the castle show view was great, but a lot of the fireworks seemed behind, not above, the castle. I will try to post a picture tonight if I remember how, been a while since I posted a photo.

We were just there last week and had a FP+ for the 9:00 parade that got cancelled. We just stayed for the castle show which was a great view but the fireworks followed pretty quickly. As crowded as it was, I'm not sure we could have gotten to a different spot to view the fireworks. The view of the fireworks from there was pretty bad. Most of them were hidden by the castle.

Good to know. Thanks. I'm rethinking my "watch from the train platform" strategy. At that distance even watching from street level works ok. Too bad I can't make it work with the castle show.

I agree with previous posts. We just did this last night. We had FP+ for MSEP. The view of the castle show was spectacular while the view of fireworks was greatly lacking. I'm not sure how easy it would be to move back toward the entrance of the park with the mass of people heading toward the castle. With that said, we also had FP+ for Wishes this week and the view of the castle show was terrible wile the view of Wishes was better than directly in front of the castle.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but we booked MSEP FP+ and stayed in the same spot for Wishes back in November. We stood against the fence, facing the rose garden and with our left side towards the castle. We found the view of the fireworks to be more than sufficient, and it was an excellent spot to see the show on the castle beforehand.

When MSEP was over, there was a massive crowd heading out of the area, so if we had left and tried to find another spot to watch Wishes without a Wishes FP+, we would have been in the middle of a large crowd and it would have been hard. Instead, we sat on the ground and waited for it to start. We'd do it again.

It is much easier to move after MSEP for those not in big groups or with small kids. If I fell into either of those two categories, I wouldn't get an MSEP FP+ unless I didn't plan on watching Wishes or had a FP+ for it.

Not sure I want to chance trying to find another spot with Wishes crowds likely already lined up at any prime spots.

How about Vice Versa? What if I FP+ Wishes? Can I get to the spot for FP holders early enough to watch the MSEP from it?

I did this in late May. it obstructed a lot of the fireworks, but it was nice having a spot already. They remove the ropes after the parade and more people fill in, but you do not have to move. Not the ideal view for the full effect but it gets the job done. The castle does block a very good bulk of the fireworks, so be aware of that. Here are some pictures for an idea:

Thank you so much! These are exactly the type of pictures I have been combing the internet for for the last few weeks. That view of the fireworks would make me happy and I really just want to be "up front" for the castle show. I think we'll stay put in our MSEP FP+ spot. If it winds up being a disappointment, we'll know better for next time. :)

No problem, you are welcome! As long as you have actually seen wishes before, you'll probably be fine with it. I just wouldn't advise it for someone trying to get their first wishes experience. You can see the larger fireworks but the smaller ones get pretty hidden. As long as I can hear the soundtrack and see the castle though I am a happy camper, if you are like that you'll probably be fine.

I was coming back to post almost this exact same thing. I love Wishes and have seen it a handful of times. It was worth it for the parade and castle show view. The fireworks view want my favorite, but it was acceptable. We were on the right side up against the fence so we had somewhere to lean while standing. Plus, some of the pictures with the big fireworks behind the castle look awesome.

I would do it again, but maybe not if it was my only night to see Wishes.

Is FP+ a requirement for the MSEP, or can you obtain one with your 4th or 5th FP day of?

Technically you could obtain one with your 4th, etc. but there likely wouldn't be availability. I think MSEP and Wishes is difficult to even pre-book the closer you get.
