Some friends came down to meet us last week at WDW.

We had signed them up for Emerald Club, but they have a family of 5, so we made them a full size ER reservation. I had told them to go to the full size aisle to choose their car. Well, when we arrived 2 days before them, they had some minivans on the EA, so we called them and told them to check there too and if there were minivans, to ask the attendant if they could take off of the EA since they were Emerald Club members.

To make a long story short, they got all confused and ended up choosing a Malibu off of the EA (they didn't even go to the full size aisle). So, they got a car off of the EA and were only charged what their original quote was, 100.14 for a week. So, if things are the same all of the time, you could just take a car off of the EA if you have a full size reserved.... you would still pay the full size price.... am I correct?

Question. Is the Malibu considered full or intermediate size... maybe if the malibu is considered a full size, choosing from the EA didn't really matter.....

Thoughts?

I think the Malibu is considered a full size. I always see a lot of them in the Ex. aisle.

I imagine you can make an ER reservation and take off the EA, but in most cases, you'd be paying more for it (full size is often a bit more than intermediate cost).

Sorry your friends got so confused. There are attendants there and they could have just asked abou it when they arrived.

When I was there in March, we had a full size res but they only had a convertible on the full size row and we had 4 people. We asked an attendent, he asked if we were EC, we said yes and he let us take an Aztec off the EA.

The difference between intermediate & full size is usually small, I booked a full size for May to be guaranteed at least that. I didn't look real close at the EA but it looked like mostly Classics (yuck!) and Grand Am's. I got an Impala off the full size. For $97 total for 6 days it was great!

Hopefully said:
What is the difference between ER and EA? TIA

Emerald Aisle (EA) is for Emerald Club members who reserve an intermediate size. There are sometimes upgrades on that row.

Emerald Reserve (ER) is for Emerald Club members who want to reserve a size other than intermediate. They go to the size row they reserved to select a car.

In either case, Emerald Club members skip the counter and go straight to the garage.
