I know that you can use your DVC points to stay at any DVC resort, but can you use them to stay at non-DVC properties at Disney World such as moderates? Specifically wondering about the cabins at Fort Wilderness.

If you are a qualified member (meaning your points are direct or grandfathered in). You'll use a lot of points on those non-DVC properties.

Do you think it's still worth it versus paying out of pocket if you wanted to stay at a non-DVC? or does it get to the point where it's a wash anyway?

First, there is a $95 fee. Then, it converts the points to reservation points which mean if you ever canceled, those points would no longer be eligible for stays at DVC resorts.

If you have the points that will not be missed, and you don’t want to have to pay cash when you have points, it could be good.

But, overall, its not the best use of points, and if you can get a Disney discount, it makes its even less of a deal.
