Has anyone used their DVC Points to stay around the Williamsburg area.

I have tried a couple times over the years to use our points at other locations, but there never was any availablity at the places we wanted to stay, at the times we wanted to go.
I find the whole process confussing and difficult.

I am just wondering if others have had better success than we have, and if anyone stayed in or around the Williamsburg area on DVC points.

sorry, i have never stayed around williamsburg area...but i agree about the whole process being confusing!! i tried booking at different places (non disney), and just can't seem to find any availability either! so i'm just subscribing here, and hopefully someone will answer, and i can get some helpful tips...:flower:

We've used our points for things in the concierge collection, but never in the Williamsburg area. We're thinking about visiting the Williamsburg area this summer, but since we're military, we're going to try to use AFVC, which will allow us to get into an RCI resort for under $400.00 for the week... much better than trading our DVC points!

We've used our DVC points once for other than Disney and it was for Williamsburg. We stayed at Marriott Manor Club at Fords Colony and thought it was very nice (1 bedroom villa). It's part of a golf community.

If you're interested you should go to the Marriott Vacation Club website and you'll be able to pull up the info for Virginia locations.

I'm not sure if it was thru RCI - this was a few years ago.

Marriott's Manor Club trades in Interval International. My sister and I stayed on an II getaway a few years ago, it was a better deal than using points/weeks etc. Nice resort.

King's Creek might be a good choice via RCI.
