Using DME to catch Airport Transport

So my family and I will be visiting the World' prior to our Disney Cruise. From what I've read, Disney Cruise transportation will rarely leave the resorts before 12:30. We want to be at port well before that. Has anyone used DME to transport them to the airport and then catch the Cruise bus from MCO? I'm thinking, just give DME a random flight that leaves around noon so I can get to the airport by 9 and then catch the first transport bus. More importantly, will Disney allow this? Thanks!

P.S. We've considered private transport but we only have 3 of us that will be charged. Car rental is out because we will need a booster and carseat (5yr and 11m).

Yes, some people have taken ME back to MCO and then use DCL transfers from there. Personally for me, it sounds like a lot of travel that morning, especially with young kids; you'd have to lug your suitcases around the airport as well. To get to MCO by 9am, you'd have a pretty early departure from your resort. What are your pre-cruise plans? You could spend the night at an airport area hotel, rather than at WDW. That way you don't have 2 bus rides back-to-back in the morning. If you are coming in several days ahead and spending vacation time pre-cruise at WDW, maybe take ME back to the airport at night and stay at an airport area hotel, then catch the bus in the morning.

Enjoy your cruise!

Honestly never understood the need to be at the port before staterooms are open. Why rush to be in a crowd of people? You have to keep your carry-ons with you until the staterooms are opened, unless you are concierge. Just easier to take the bus from your resort, have bell services handle your luggage, and take a relaxed bus ride to the port.

This is an option we are considering and there are three of us as well. The car rental (so far) is more expensive than the DCL transfers (from resort or MCO) and like you, we just like being on as early as possible. I'm Platinum so we can board fairly early and especially with a 3 day sailing for us (with the WDW trip) we want to maximize our time on board. We lean to just doing the car rental but taking ME back to MCO then doing the DCL transfer isn't out of the question yet.

I like this idea! Especially because my husband and son are flying out that night. The trip is just a mini "Mother/daughter" stay, where I'm taking her to the Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party and Candlelight Processional. We can check out of our room the day before, enjoy the parks, and then grab a cab to the airport to meet my husband and spend the night. His flight comes in at 10:30 and the park closes at 9pm anyway. Love it, thank you!

You might consider pricing the Hyatt in the airport. You can set them up to pick up your bags and transport to the ship for you, then it's an easy walk downstairs to catch the bus.
