Using DME the morning after my flight?

Hello friends, I am new to the site, but am well-versed in WDW, as I have been to WDW nearly 20 times since 1995. However, I have a concern.

My flight lands in MCO on 6/29 at 11:55 PM. My reservation begins at my resort on 6/30. My plan is to stay at the airport Marriott and take a Disney Magical Express shuttle the following day. I called Disney, and got a response that this was not going to be a problem, but they did not sound very sure of it. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this. I have not yet made my DME reservation. Thanks everyone!

It isn't a problem at all. People do this all the time.

DME is tied to your resort stay and not your flights. You are entitled to one trip from airport to the resort and one trip from resort to airport. Can be used at any time during your stay.

The bolded part is because when you call Disney you get routed to a call center, and the CSRs you talk to might not be well-versed in something they don't specialize in, such as DME, etc. But as others have said, you can certainly do this.

In addition, if you wanted even closer to the airport, as in inside the airport, you could consider staying at the Hyatt inside MCO that first night. It's hard to beat that convenience, at midnight. It's not cheap, though.

Thank you goofy4tink!

Grimley, we are actually thinking of staying at the Holiday Inn Express, about 2 miles away from the airport. I called there, and they told me that I call when I land and they pick me up, then shuttles go back to MCO every hour on the half hour. I figure by the time we get our bags and get to Holiday Inn, it'll be around 1, and that we get a morning shuttle to MCO where we can connect with DME and get to our resort in time to enjoy most of the day in the parks. It's pretty much half the price of the Hyatt, albeit we lose the convenience factor.

It's hard to argue with that! Yes, the Hyatt comes at a premium. Besides, that shuttle will make up for some of the lost convenience.
