Using Disney transportation from SSR, how long does it take...

...to get to the different parks (MK, Epcot, MGM, and AK)?

Longtime DVC member (OKW and BWV) just back from 1st ever stay at SSR Dec 19 - 24. SSR is just down the street from OKW so actual distances and drive times are similar. I might be spoiled with my OKW experience (I think OKW has the best bus service) but I felt SSR bus service was a little too slow and crowded for my tastes. SSR is HUGE and the bus loop is long, even though it only has about 4 stops. We got on at the Congress Park bus stop and several times the bus was already full and no one could get on. Built in delay waiting for next bus. Granted, it was a busy time and the resort was full, but it didn't seem like there were enough busses running to handle the flow, especially at peak periods.

I just wanted to know when we should catch a bus to the various parks in order to make it to our ADRs on time.

No biggie - I guess we'll just leave an hour before. That's probably a safe amount of time to make it to an ADR, right?

I would leave earlier than 1 hour. You almost always have to wait for a bus; then it has to make a few internal stops (probably) depending upon what part you're in. Then you have to add travel time; the time to walk from the buses into each park; the time to go through security; the time to go thru the ticket gate, and the time to walk to the restaurant; and the time they suggest you get there prior to ADR (5-10 minutes).

I was there twice recently 11/26 to 11/29 and again on 12/20-12/23. On the November trip, I must have had bad bus karma because no matter what park I was going to, that was the bus that had just pulled out! The only plus to that was I always got a seat! In December, my karma was better and I had short waits for the bus each time. I still only had to stand once. I reallly didn't find the bus service slow either time. We stayed at OKW in June and I found the trip around that resort longer than SSR. Now, once the new section opens that may change everything.

We had the same bus karma at SSR for Thanksgiving. We stayed at CP area and our desired bus showed up within 5-10 min. Though Monday when we were headed to MK, that bus never showed and had like 3 EPCOT buses in a row. Hopped on the 3rd and took the monorail over to MK via TTC. We always got a seat on the way to the parks and I think once or twice had to stand on the way back to SSR.

I also worried about this for our trip this past June. I was pleasantly surprised with the bus service. It was quick and uncrowded EVERY time we used it. My only complaint was the amount of time it took to get back from DDT- it would be much better to walk or take the boat. We took the boat on the way to DDT and loved it!
