Using discounts before check-in?

Our package doesn't start until Saturday, but we're in Orlando for a few days prior. Are we able to use the Planet Hollywood/Disneyquest/mini golf vouchers that came before Saturday, or do we have to wait to check in? Someone said they may be dated and can only be used for those dates?
