I'm debating about getting the dining plan for our upcoming trip. It will be just my teenage daughter and me for four nights. With the price jump at Le Cellier, I think it might be worth it. But another night we are eating at Brown Derby, so we will be short 2 TS. (We are also eating at Cape May Clam Bake and Teppen Edo) I would like to pay for one of our meals at the Brown Derby using the dining plan and pay for the other entree out of pocket. It will not be our last night - we are eating at Le Cellier on our last night so I really want 2TS left for that night.

Will I be allowed to pay for one meal with DDP credits at Brown Derby and pay for the second entree out of pocket even though I have credits left? Will I have problems? Has anyone done this?

No problem at all. We usually have more TS meals than we do credits, so try to pay OOP for the ones that will be cheaper (usually breakfasts). If you use your room key to charge it back to your room, it will of course say you have the DDP. Just tell the waiter that you are paying for one meal OOP. You will get two receipts-one showing the number of dining credits left with a zero balance and another for the one you will be paying OOP. I would be sure to look at the DDP receipt though, just to make sure he hadn't accidentally used an extra credit.
