We have a $150 credit with Air Tran. When purchasing tickets, do I have to contact them directly to use this credit? We usually get our tickets on-line. Would appreciate any advice. TIA

Usually you have to call them or take the voucher to the airport. Not sure with your airline so I would call them and ask.

If you have a true "credit", it will come automatically off the ticket price when you're checking out on-line.

If you've got a "travel voucher", you must call an operator.

Good Luck.

I would call AirTran and make your reservations. We had a credit due to one of the hurricanes in 2004. I called and had no problems making the reservations using the credit. However, there was still money left over because the new flights were cheaper. The agent suggested I could upgrade at the airport to business class for $50.00 to use up the credits. We did this but the agent at the airport could not find the credit so I had to pay for the upgrade. When we got home I e-mailed AirTran. They found the credit someplace in their system and credited my credit card.
Great customer service, but there was quite a bit of confusion at the airport about the credit. Looks like when they moved the credit from the original tickets to the new ones the residual got mixed up between the two.

A few years back, when we needed to book using a credit from a cancelled reservation, we had to call AirTran as they had a specific department which dealt with it. Don't know if it's changed recently. What I did was shop online for the flight I wanted then called asking to book it and apply the credit (less the $50 change fee, of course!).
