Using bell services for your luggage

Hi, everyone! I'm so excited but probably have a "hillbilly" question! We have booked our first stay at a deluxe resort! We will be staying a couple of nights at the Yacht Club! Our plan is to leave the house super early to make the most of our day by getting there around 9:00 am or so. If I go check in, how does the process work leaving your luggage with bell services? Do I have to ask? Do they offer? Is there a cost for this? If we are at EPCOT when our room becomes ready, will they go ahead and deliver the luggage to the room as soon as my room is ready so it will be there when we get back or will they wait until we return and request it be delivered?

We've always handled our own luggage so I'm just really unsure about this. Thanks for any help for this hillbilly!

It doesn't cost to leave your bags with bell services, although most of us leave a tip. I usually leave a tip with the ones taking my bag away and the one who delivers it for me. They will not deliver to your room while you are out (only DME does that), you need to call and ask to have them delivered and they will take them to you but not open your door.

When you arrive at the hotel, an employee will take your bags out of your vehicle and put them on a luggage cart. The employee will give you a claim ticket. When you get to your room, you call and they will bring your bags to your room.

I say "employee" and not "cast member" because it is my understanding that the person taking your bags out of your vehicle works for an outside vendor, not for Disney.

The process is the same whether you arrive early in the morning or later in the day.

If you only have a few things, after you've been assigned your room you can go to the bell desk, present your check ticket, they will bring your bags out to the bell desk, and you can transport them to your room. We do this if we have a room near bell services as it saves a bit of time (to avoid having to wait in your room until they deliver)

And who knows, your room may be ready and you can take your bags to your room yourself! :)

Oh yes! Fingers crossed for a ready room! And I love the idea of giving our ticket right yo bell services so we can get our bags! I have a one year old and I'm hoping to avoid any wait time once we get back in our room! Perfect!

We have always done Bell Service (we have to much "stuff" not just a few solid suitcases) and it has never taken longer than 10 minutes after we called Bell Services from our room.
They are super fast. Same with leaving... you call...and they show up within 10 minutes :) (just our experience).

Not sure if this isn't as efficient at a moderate or value...but without fail...no matter the time of day... it was always fast (and I am NOT a patient person...lol)
