We were thinking of scoping out the Poly or Contemporary while we are in WDW (10 days to go but not counting). Would the boys be allowed to check out and try the arcades in resorts other than the one where we are staying?
Would it be okay for them to grab a snack at the food court/counter service?

Don't worry - we have NO intention of pool hopping, and definately no mug hopping. :rotfl: Besides being against the rules, for us it would be too inconvenient...unless I was going to be bathing suit hop too. ;)

Sure you can. Many guests visit the Cont because of Chef Mickeys so I'm sure they are used to the extra guests being around all the time.

Oh yes-Disney have no objections to you visiting other resorts to spend cash!:lmao:

We always visit the Contemporary's arcade. It is the biggest and best on property, I think. When we stay at CR, we spend too much time and money in the arcade!

I hear POPs arcade has the kind of machines that give tickets to get cheesy little prizes when you are done. DD12 is so into those things! we will have to make a trip just for that and frozen cokes of course in our generic YOAMD resort mugs, yes I said generic since they are now all the same mug at all the resorts, and state on them they are for this trip only (but not just for one resort). . .:rolleyes1

I just tells them likes I reads 'em on the DIS!

but thanks for steering clear of our small overcrowded pool over at the POLY that the lifeguards probably told the family in front of you it was okay to cool off in . . .:sad2:

To the OP with the YOAMD mugs you would be allowed to use them because they are good at all the WDW Resorts. However if you're planning on going to the Contemporary arcade after September 9th, the Food & Fun Center will be closed and the temporary counter service location won't be selling the mugs.

Of course they can! The arcade at CR is pretty good and it's big. But I must say, the arcade at the Polynesian isn't that great or at least it wasn't last May.

The new arcade at the Polynesian is conveniently located right next to Captain Cooks. My boys (9 & 14) loved it. It is much larger than the old arcade. Bring lottsa money! You buy cards to swipe at each of the games from an ATM-like ticket machine. Each game costs about a buck - some higher some lower. BTW, my9 year old says "the claw machines are all rigged!":rotfl2:

What does YOAMD stand for?

Anyone know what Arcade has Pacman or Ms. Pacman. My son's favorite arcade game. We will be at the GF, do they even have an arcade?

Thanks!
