Using a point transfer?

If I take a point transfer from someone with a different home resort than me (I have AKV and this person has OKW), am I able to use those OKW points at the 7 month mark to reserve ANY DVC resort and do I have to use them at OKW only? TIA!

Transferred vacation points retain the Use Year and Home Resort Priority of the Membership they were transferred from.

All transferred points expire at the end of the transferring member’s Use Year.

Ahhhh, Mike! I was hoping you'd answer since you seem to be the guru of all things DVC. However, its early and I haven't had my coffee yet...so forgive me for asking this for clarification...so am I stuck staying at OKW when I use those points or do I just retain 11 month advantage and am able to trade to something else at 7 months. Sorry...first time doing this and its so confusing to me.

They are just like any other points at 7 months, you can use them anywhere.

Transferred points will not expire if they are banked. I am using Apr 08 UY SSR points for our stay at BWN this May after banking them and then booking 7 months out. -- Suzanne
