Using a GoPro on the rides

I did a search on this topic and couldn't find an answer.

I want to take my GoPro in its chest harness on the actual rides in use. I've had some issues in the past with CM's stopping the ride to chastise me for wanting to video a ride and really would like to avoid both that embarrassment and the delay for other guests.

Does anyone know if they allow GoPros on the rides used from safely controlled equipment?

Thanks.

Not a problem.

There are a very, very few attractions that do not allow video recording.
Those attractions have signs and pre-show announcements.
Most are the attractions that feature film/video presentations as a principle
part of the show.

Why would you want to waste your time and effort filming the rides? Every ride at WDW has dozens of POV videos on Youtube already.

You can wear the chest harness and the wrist band one. I believe you can also use the handle that does not extended out. It's the telescoping handle (aka 'selfie stick') that is no longer allowed.

It's not an "effort" to share Rockin' Rollercoaster with my DS who isn't coming on this trip with me, or have my own ride experience recorded. I like making my own videos and taking lots of silly photos! (see the trip report thread in my sig)

Not to mention that Youtube video is typically pretty low quality - both resolution and videography. If you want something you can play on a television, YouTube isn't your friend.

YouTube now supports "4K"video... up to double the quality of HD.

Wow. When I first looked into YouTube, at least a decade ago, uploaded videos had a limit of something crazy like 8Mb, so it seemed hardly worth spending time on with all the compression that would be necessary.

I guess they upgraded to a bigger hard drive.
